Try the Japanese sewing technique Sashiko.
Sashiko is a traditional repair technique based on stitches.The early use of the technique was developed to straighten and repair utility textiles at a time when nothing was to be wasted. Over time, Sashiko was developed into freer forms and also become a strong aesthetic form of expression.
During the workshop, participants are introduced to the Japanese sewing technique with its history, materials, techniques. Participants with try the technique by mending their clothes and everyday textiles, and by making free compositions. There will also be exercises to sew a piece of fabric or several small patched fabrics.

Bring your stich kit: thread, needles, scissors, fabrics, thimbles, pliers, pins, fabric pencil. Bring the desired materials as jeans or shirts to the workshop. If you do not have embroidery tols, you can borrow them on site.
