Living Interface Opening Performance

For the opening event, Christelle Mas and Yellow Wasabi present a live performance in dialogue with the ecosystem simulation developed by Olli Uikkanen.

Through poetry, motion capture, generative electronic sound and real-time simulation, the performance extends the exhibition’s exploration of marine ecologies and speculative forms of life. Combining body, sound and simulation, it explores how living systems, technologies and imagination continuously shape one another. Movement data generates evolving soundscapes inspired by microbial behaviours. As the ecosystem unfolds, interactions between virtual organisms influence the performance in real time.

Yellow Wasabi, an evolutionary biologist and new media artist, creates generative sound environments that bring together biological processes, computation and improvisation.

This version of the performance is developed by Yellow Wasabi with the support of Myymälä2.

Avajaisperformanssi

Christelle Mas ja Yellow Wasabi esittävät näyttelyn avajaisissa performanssin, joka yhdistyy Olli Uikkasen kehittämään ekosysteemisimulaatioon.

Performanssi laajentaa näyttelyn teemoja yhdistäen runoutta, liikkeenkaappausta, generatiivista ääntä ja reaaliaikaista simulointia. Se käsittelee elollisten olioiden, teknologioiden ja mielikuvituksen välistä jatkuvaa vuorovaikutusta kehollisuuden, äänen ja simulaation keinoin. Liikedatan pohjalta syntyy kehittyviä äänimaisemia, jotka perustuvat mikrobien käyttäytymiseen. Kun ekosysteemi kehittyy, virtuaalisten organismien välinen vuoropuhelu ottaa osaa esitykseen reaaliajassa.

Yellow Wasabi on evoluutiobiologi ja uusmediataiteilija. Hän luo generatiivisia äänimaisemia, joissa yhdistyvät biologiset prosessit, laskenta ja improvisaatio.
