Smoking Mirror 1 is an exploration of reflective liminalities using vernacular and contemporary construction methods to produce unstable reflections through experimental materials. An oblong mirror assembled from obsidian shards, resin, and reflective film is set against a surface made from legal documents and plant matter introduced into the work.

Part of Summer’s Long Corner, supported by the Kone Foundation, the work uses Archaeological Semantics as an artistic method to bring language, material, memory, and speculative future ecologies into contact.

Bio:

Poet, translator, and transmedia artist. Academic formation in Hispanic Language and Literature, with specializations in reading promotion, cultural management, and Mexican literature in Indigenous languages. His practice shifts between writing, performance, and material experimentation. For him, poetry is an archaeological, semantic, and sensory inquiry that is embodied, sculpted, staged, and allowed to decay.
