Welcome to the presentation and dialogue afterwards of “7 years of waiting, 24 hours of notice, 7 days of life” by artist, educator and father Christian Fernández Mirón (@fernandezmiron)

7 years of waiting, 24 hours of notice, 7 days of life is a diary of parenthood, a self-printed journal with a self-explanatory title: how a seven day old baby came into the author –Christian Fernández Mirón– and his husband’s life. A small earthquake. 224 pages of texts and drawings recount the first two years of an upbringing outside the norm, the vicissitudes and the discoveries that come with being an adoptive and LGTBIQ+ family in Spain today. Challenges, reliefs, reflections, claims, anecdotes and learnings give shape to this very personal story in a bilingual edition. Self-printed by the author in risography at La Escocesa (Barcelona), it is currently sold out but will be reprinted soon! : Link

About Christian:
Christian Fernández Mirón develops projects that cross artistic, educational and social practices. He was born in Spain and grew up in Indonesia and Argentina before returning to Madrid. As a child, he still asks many questions and likes to explore. He is equally interested in leading and being led, sharing doubts and learnings, the search for collective intimacies and questioning conventional forms of learning and legitimation. He works in the independent and self-managed sphere as well as in institutional frameworks, especially in Spain, Colombia, Chile, the Dominican Republic and the United Kingdom. Currently, he works on diverse projects for cultural centres, schools and universities, museums and theatres, often through mediation with communities. www.fernandezmiron.com @fernandezmiron
