The Mother’s Tongue book is the outcome of a unique collaborative project between arts and science taking place in Helsinki in October 2014. In the context of one of the biggest performance art festivals of its time, artists were asked to investigate the effect of missing the cultural and linguistic background of their place of residence. They were interviewed and asked to contribute in discussions on the topic.
The book to be presented is an anthology of the art actions during the festival, the anthropologic research and some critical notes.
Who: Invited to this event are all who made this project possible in the form of presented art works, grants, venues, volunteers’ work, photographies and texts.
Your presence will be appreciated as well!
