SVENSKA

Tuhkanen has been the director of Myymälä2 since 2017 and is also an Affiliate Research at the Turku University Department of Musicology and artistic researcher at die Angewandte University of Applied Arts Vienna. Currently, their works intersect between contemporary art and music. Researching artistically the aesthetics between the fields of sound and touch in everyday life and archives, their practice involves imagining, institutioning, designing and creating instruments that act as social interventions and political tools for encountering and including non-humans in the decision-making process. Tuhkanen’s subject matters often adapt themselves inside an occupied environment of urban landscapes and hydrosocial-spaces. Their work has been featured in Manifesta12; Kunsthalle Exnergasse WUK, Vienna; Museo delle Trame Mediterranee, Italy; luftArt in Neue Music Berlin; Sound Museum, St Petersburg; Nordham Recorder Festival, Germany; 3éme Biennale de l’Art Contemporain Casablanca, Morocco; XX Mänttä Art Festival, Finland; European Mediterranean Art Association, Nicosia, Cyprus; Emma Museum of Modern Art, Finland.

Suvadeep Das
He is interested in the aspect of public anatomy – making and doing something with the public. The tools of intervention, interaction, anticipation, perception and the sense of community. Interest in engaging people to perform to have access to the collective understanding of Art form. He combines the notion of Body and material in his performances.
The question of the existence of ‘the Other’ in the space of ‘An-Other’ formed into an important area of his work. His status as an outsider, intermingling through performances and actions in a foreign land, is an important approach, more in the line of hyphen rather than a slash.
He combines Music, Visual Art, and Bodily writing in his creative process.

Kamila Śladowska (she/her) is a visual artist born in 1996 in Warsaw, who works with various media, focussing on painting. She graduated from Painting Faculty at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, as well as from Costume Design at MSKPU in Warsaw, both in 2020. Being raised in anthropocene, Śladowska tries to learn about painting from more-than-humans. She researches around topics of diversity and cultural anthropology in context of post-humanism. Her creation is associated with eco-eroticism or eco-feminism. The artist also sources inspirations from hydrofeminism, transhumanism/anarcho-primitivism, investigating the relationship of human and more-than-human through the lence of painting. In the past years she has been working on interconnected painting ecosystems. She believes that regard on colour perception might be a clue to understand homo sapiens as part of evolutionary mechanisms. Śladowska makes effort to work with recycled materials or to use slow techniques in order to reduce the harmful footprint of painting process. Her work has been shown in multiple countries in Europe (including for example Biennial of Palermo, STØND LEEG festival in Antwerp, Optižuns in Latvia, Sinfonia Varsovia or In Feminis Veritas in Berlin).
